Security and WhatsApp messages
What does Discovery do with the questions I ask on WhatsApp?
We securely store all your interactions with Discovery so that we can access them if needed. Your information is strictly confidential and we won’t share it with anybody.
What does WhatsApp do with the questions I ask?
Messages between WhatsApp users are protected with an end-to-end encryption protocol so that neither third parties nor WhatsApp can read them. Messages can only be decrypted by the recipient. All types of WhatsApp messages (including chats, group chats, images, videos, voice messages and files) and WhatsApp calls are protected by end-to-end encryption. WhatsApp servers don’t have access to users’ private keys and WhatsApp users can opt to verify keys in order to ensure the integrity of their communication.
What happens if somebody steals my phone?
Your WhatsApp messages are stored on your WhatsApp Messenger app.
If your phone is stolen or lost and somebody gets access to your WhatsApp app, they will be able to read your messages. If you haven’t updated your number or unregistered, they will also be able to use your app to get further personal information about your account.
