Emergency medical phone number to change for international travel
From April 2017, our partner on the International Travel Benefit will change from International SOS (ISOS) to ER24. The available benefits your employees currently enjoy will not change. The only change will be: From 1 April 2017 the Discovery international emergency number will be +27 11 529 6900.
If your employees call the current international emergency number +27 11 541 1222, they will be seamlessly redirected to the Discovery international call center operated by ER24. The qualified ER24 team will coordinate all medical care needed, as well as place guarantees of payments after approved admissions.
The International Travel Benefit covers your employees for medical emergency treatment outside the borders of the Republic of South Africa for 90 days from date of departure from South Africa. The benefit funds approved medical emergencies, evacuations, and repatriations, on the Executive, Comprehensive, Priority, Saver, Core, and Smart Series (Classic and Essential) Plans.
