Nut butter

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 cups raw unsalted nuts of your choice, such as cashews, almonds, or macadamia nuts
  • 15ml canola oil
  • 5ml honey

METHOD

Place the nuts in a single layer on a tray and roast in the oven until golden brown. Place in a food processor and grind to a fine powder for about 5 minutes. Add the oil. Continue processing until it becomes smooth and creamy. Stop to scrape down the sides of the bowl every two minutes. Continue until the nut oils are released and the mixture turns creamy and smooth and move around very easily inside the food processor.

It can take up to 20 minutes until the nuts are creamy, this depends on the strength and size of the food processor.

Once creamy, add honey and blend until well combined.

Store in a sterilised glass jar until needed.

Serves: 250ml, Preparation time: 10min, Cooking time: 10min
