Get active & drive well to feed a child for a week with Vitality MoveToGive

Did you know a total of R7.2 million has been donated to charity through Vitality MoveToGive rewards? You can keep being part of the solution. Learn how to feed a hungry child for a week by getting active and driving well.

While many South Africans don't often have to worry about how they will manage to source their next meal, 14 million South Africans go hungry each day with a third of all food produced in the country going to landfills. This is a dire situation where the health, wellbeing and lives of people are threatened due to having limited access to this basic need.

As Discovery, we are committed to doing all we can to enhance and protect lives across the country, and would like you to be a part of it. As part of our Vitality MoveToGive initiative, we have partnered with FoodForward SA to reduce these high levels of food wastage and recover surplus food from the likes of farms, retailers and restaurants – ensuring that this food reaches those who need it most.

This is how you can be part of this important initiative

From 13 September 2018, Vitality members who achieve their weekly fitness and driving goals (including all non-Vitality members participating in the Vitality Open), can opt to convert their Vitality rewards points into a MoveToGive donation to provide a week's worth of meals to a child in need. Your donation will help to cover the various costs associated with getting surplus food to registered beneficiary organisations across the country.

PLUS - take part in MoveToGive food drives at these parkruns

Vitality MoveToGive and FoodForward SA will be at the Waterfall parkrun on Saturday, 6 October 2018 and the Gilloolys parkrun on Saturday, 13 October 2018 to collect non-perishable food that will go towards feeding children in need. We encourage you to bring tinned and dry goods like grains and beans and we'll donate these on your behalf.

The more weekly goals you achieve, the more chances you have to donate to this worthy cause, and the more children you can help to feed - so get active and drive well, today!
