1. Exciting updates you can start enjoying today

In 2025, Vitality made it even easier to get active, eat well and establish healthy habits. We streamlined the Vitality Active Rewards journey, expanded the Vitality Fitness network, and enhanced the HealthyFood benefit so you can get rewarded from Checkers or Woolworths, in-store or delivered to your door. Plus, we added more value through Ðiscovery Miles and the Vitality Mall, and elevated travel experiences with new partners. We look forward to even more exciting updates you can start enjoying from this year into 2026.

  • You can fully fund Oura Ring 4 or get an up to 25% discount. Exclusive to Discovery Vitality and Discovery Bank clients. As a special introductory offer, no penalty amount will apply until 1 April 2026. Find out more.
  • You can earn up to 8 free workouts a month on Vitality Fitness, based on your Vitality Health status. You already get 2 free workouts a month, and now you can unlock up to 6 additional workouts depending on your Vitality Health status - bringing your total up to 8 free workouts per month. This excludes Virgin Active and Planet Fitness, where you're eligible for three free visits in your lifetime. Find out more.
  • Woolworths is now a Ðiscovery Miles online partner! If you have a qualifying Discovery Bank product you can now spend your Ðiscovery Miles on the Woolies App and online to get up to 15% off every day on fashion, beauty, homeware or food items. Plus, get double your discount, that's up to 30% off, on Miles Ð-Day on the 15th of every month.

2. Introducing Vitality Sleep Rewards

Vitality is bringing you another way to improve your health and get rewarded next year with Vitality Sleep Rewards, here to help you track, understand and improve your sleep habits. 3. The next evolution of fitness

Vitality is here to keep you active with incredible fitness partners and rewards that motivate you every step of the way. Plus, our iconic gym benefit gives you up to 75% off at Virgin Active and Planet Fitness health clubs around the country. Here are even more ways to make staying fit easier and more affordable than ever.

Expanding the Vitality Fitness network

  • For the first time, Vitality members without a Virgin Active or Planet Fitness membership will be able to book classes at select Virgin Active clubs through the Vitality Fitness network. You can also book access passes at both Virgin Active and Planet Fitness.
  • Vitality Fitness is expanding its reach to even more yoga and Pilates studios across the country by partnering with Bookamat. Learn more.
  • If you choose to gym at Moove, please be aware that discounts on Fit Passes will be 10% from January.

Get up to 100% off a Garmin device with Vitality Active Rewards

  • In 2026, if you have a qualifying Discovery Bank account, you will be able to fully fund a Garmin device to the value of R8,000 by achieving your weekly Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals over a 24-month period.
  • In addition, you will have access to an always-on discount of up to 25% on Garmin devices, with a substantially higher qualifying spend limit of R8,000.

This means that next year you will have the choice to fully fund Apple Watch, Oura Ring 4 or a Garmin device with Discovery Vitality and Discovery Bank. You will use Vitality Active Rewards to fully fund your Apple Watch or Garmin device, and you will use Vitality Sleep Rewards to fully fund Oura Ring 4. Should you want more than 1 device you can fully fund one device and get up to 25% discount on Oura Ring 4 and Garmin. Find out more.

The enhanced Vitality Active Gear benefit

  • In 2026, we're increasing the spend limit on Nike performance gear purchases to R4,000 per year. You will be able to get up to 25% off these Nike purchases.
  • You'll continue to get 25% off qualifying sports gear and equipment, up to a total spend of R1,000 each month at Sportsmans Warehouse and Totalsports.

4. Vitality points updates

  • Vitality points for Sleep

You will be able to earn up to 500 Vitality points a month for tracking your sleep. Earn 500 points each month when you achieve an average Vitality Sleep Score of 75 or higher, provided you've tracked at least 25 nights that month using a recognised wearable device. Keep an eye on your inbox and our social pages, as we will alert you when you can start earning these points.

  • Vitality points for physical activity

You will be able to earn up to 35,000 Vitality points a year for being active. Up to 25,000 points can be earned for participating in fitness activities, and a further up to 10,000 points can be earned based on your Vitality Cardio Fitness Level. This means that we are adding an extra 5,000 Vitality points to how much you can earn for being physically active over the year.

If you record VO2 max readings from your wearable device, you will no longer be able to earn Vitality points from a Vitality Fitness Assessment alone. If you choose to do a Vitality Fitness Assessment it will now count as 1 out of 5 readings towards your Vitality Cardio Fitness Level.

  • Vitality points for condition management
  • Members registered with the Discovery Health diabetes programme will earn 1,000 points for visiting a diabetes nurse educator.
  • The retinal screening network will expand to include optometrists, GPs, and specialist physicians, making it easier for members aged 65 and older to earn optometry points.
  • The Podiatrist consultation network will be expanded to include all eligible clinical centres.
  • Vitality points will no longer be awarded for electrocardiograms for members with diabetes, ophthalmologist visits for members with hypertension, or electrocardiograms for members with hyperlipidemia.
  • Vitality points for eye tests

Vitality members aged 60 years or older will earn up to 1,000 Vitality points for completing either a vision test or a glaucoma screening. Members who complete both assessments will receive a maximum of 1,000 points in total.

  • Vitality points for vaccinations
  • All Vitality members from the age of 6 months will earn 1,000 Vitality points once a year for a flu vaccination. Flu vaccination bonus points will no longer be awarded.
  • Vitality members who have activated Vitality Baby will earn 1,000 Vitality points for a Tdap vaccine during pregnancy (27 - 36 weeks).
  • Vitality members 65 years and older will earn 1,000 Vitality points once in a lifetime for a Tdap vaccine.
  • Vitality points will no longer be awarded for meningococcal conjugate vaccination for children aged 9 - 23 months, as this will be incorporated into the 0-2 years vaccination schedule.

5. Completing assessments to maximise rewards

In 2026, we are standardising the rewards structure across all benefits. To align with the HealthyFood benefit, your HealthyBaby and HealthyCare rewards will increase from 10% to 25% when you complete both a Vitality Age assessment and Vitality Health Check. Every member on the policy will be responsible for their own reward maximisation. This means that members on the same policy may have different reward percentages based on the assessments they have completed and based on the rewards qualifying rules.

6. Ðiscovery Miles

Ðiscovery Miles remains the most valuable rewards currency, with new partners joining the Discovery Miles ecosystem, bringing the in-store and online network to over 45 partners. This includes Aldo, Call it Spring, TechMarkit and more.

All HealthyCare and HealthyBaby rewards will be paid in Ðiscovery Miles (rather than store loyalty points or cashbacks) for Vitality members without a qualifying Discovery Bank account and Vitality Money. We will keep you updated as to when these changes will take place.

7. Rewards for medication

From January 2026, as part of our ongoing catalogue refinement and relevance process, Schedule 1 and 2 medications will no longer be included in the HealthyCare catalogue. Schedule 0 medications will remain included, and you can continue to access Schedule 1 and 2 medications through your qualifying Discovery Health Medical Scheme benefits.

8. Vitality 65+

From 2026, the activation fee refund for 65+ Vitality members for the Apple Watch benefit will no longer be available.

9. Team Vitality membership rates
